Party 'Round My Favorite Tree

about

This is mine and Brandon's first ever original Christmas/Holiday song! The inspiration for the song came from the guitar-playing style of Spartanburg, SC native, Hank Garland, who played the instantly recognizable lead guitar parts on Christmas classics, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' and "Jingle Bell Rock". Once the song was written, Brandon decided to give it a bit of a rockabilly feel.
The main thing I remember about recording this vocal is that - I was about 20 or so weeks pregnant at the time - and Baby Rory was just a-kickin' and dancin' in there the whole time we were in the studio. I took that as a good sign. :)

Party ‘Round My Favorite Tree
Music and Lyrics by Angela Easterling © 2020

Grab that gift and shake it!
Can you guess what’s inside?
The lights are twinkling like the stars reflecting on the snow tonight.
Eyes are shining, smiles are bright, and the kids are filled with glee.
When bells go jingle, jangle, ring-a-ling-a-ling,
There’s a party ‘round my favorite tree.

Mistletoe works magic,
That everybody knows.
There’s nothing like this time of year to pull a special someone close.
There’ll be candy canes and hot cocoa far as the eye can see.
When bells go jingle, jangle, ring-a-ling-a-ling,
There’s a party ‘round my favorite tree.

Are the milk and cookies ready?
‘Cause the Big Man’s on his way!
We’re listening for the sound of hooves and a certain flying sleigh.
Stockings hung, beside the fire, with our friends and family,
When bells go jingle, jangle, ring-a-ling-a-ling,
There’s a party ‘round my favorite tree.
